SOUTHERN LEYTE PJSCC CONVENE, BARANGAY ELECTION ISSUES AND CONCERNS TACKLED
Camp Gov. Alfredo K. Bantug, Maasin City, Southern Leyte, September 26, 2013 – The Provincial Joint Security Control Center (PJSCC) with COMELEC sits as the head and PNP and AFP as members convene yesterday, September 25, 2013, 8:00 a.m. at Maasin Country Lodge and Restaurant, Mambajao, Maasin City this province in preparation for the upcoming Barangay Election comes October 28, 2013. Said conference was attended and participated in by Election Officers and Chiefs of Police of the city and municipalities. Also present were representatives from other government agencies and stakeholders.
PSSupt. Armando F Bolalin, Acting Provincial Director of Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office welcomes the participants in this coordinating conference. Meanwhile, PSInsp. Napoleon Q Inot, Acting Chief, Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Branch of SLPPO introduced attendees from the PNP, 1Lt. Jorry A Vinluan, Bravo Company Commander, 78IB, 8ID, Philippine Army introduced his troops who were present while Mr. Laurence Irman Gelsano, Acting Election Officer III of the City of Maasin introduced participants from the Commission on Elections.

PROVINCIAL JOINT SECURITY CONTROL CENTER TACKLES ELECTION ISSUES AND CONCERNS

Bantug, Maasin, Southern Leyte – Top officials of COMELEC Provincial Office, Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office, Philippine Army’s 78th Infantry Division, Election Officers from the city and municipalities of Southern Leyte, Chiefs of Police and stakeholders attended the Provincial Joint Security Control Center (PJSCC) coordinating conference at the Ruperto K Kangleon Function House, Mambajao, Maasin City, Southern Leyte.
OPERATION AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS, PUSHERS NETTED
Camp Gov. Alfredo K. Bantug, Maasin City, Southern Leyte - The Southern Leyte Police Provincial Police Office thru the leadership of PSSUPT ARMANDO F BOLALIN is dedicated in its campaign against illegal drug activities in the province following directives from its top officials to initiate a sustained and intensified campaign against illegal drug activities.
On August 8, 2013 at about 1:05 o’clock in the afternoon, a joint operation of Southern Leyte PPO Provincial Anti Illegal Drugs Operation Task Group (PAIDSOTG) and Maasin City Police Station led by PSI SHEVERT ALVIN L MACHETE, PAIDSOTG Officer, conducted a buy-bust operation at Barangay Combado, Maasin City this province which resulted to the arrest of one Jediel Zabate Escobidal, 31 years old, married and a resident of said barangay was caught in the act selling dangerous drugs locally known as “shabu” thru a poseur buyer. The selling was in conspiracy with one Jacinto Cupas Bolotaolo, 40 years old, married, jobless and also a resident of same barangay who handed over a matchbox to the said accused (Jediel) wherein one sachet of “shabu” was taken and given to the poseur buyer which resulted to the arrest of the aforesaid suspects.

Bantug, Maasin, Southern Leyte –Candidates seeking for position in the province affixed their signatures in the Peace Covenant for a Secure And Fair Elections 2013 (SAFE) on February 21, 2013 at about 3:00 in the afternoon at the Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cathedral, Maasin City, Southern Leyte.
The COMELEC Provincial Office headed by Atty. Andrew A. Bido and Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office headed by PSSUPT Armando F Bolalin and the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Cathedral chaired by Rev. Fr. Oscar A. Cadayona commenced a Peace Covenant Signing for a Secure and Fair Elections 2013 made between the candidates from different political parties vying for the congressional, gubernatorial and sangguniang panlalawigan seat in the province of Southern Leyte and the Commission on Elections.
